About This Video

Hi guys—today’s vlog is a really big milestone for me. You’re seeing me with my natural hair because I literally didn’t have time to put on a wig this morning (I planned to do it later once we got there), but I still wanted to bring you along. This was my first long drive since being in the hospital, and we headed to Martyrs’ Shrine in Midland, Ontario—honestly the furthest I’ve gone since everything happened. It felt exciting, emotional, and just… like a step forward in my healing. Martyrs’ Shrine is a place that’s really powerful for my family. I share a story about my dad having really bad sciatica, and after we visited, within a couple of days he didn’t even need crutches anymore—which is still wild to me. We went with my whole family (my parents, my sisters, and of course Mari, Adriano, and Jericho), and it was one of those days that reminds you to be grateful and to keep going, even if your “first steps” are small. I also give a little life update: we got a new-to-us family car, a 2017 Acura MDX. Trading in my old standard car was honestly heartbreaking (I named her Misha and had so many memories), but with little kids and all the day-to-day stuff—especially the huge stroller—we needed something bigger for this season.
