Good morning from Toronto—today’s family outing is Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, and it honestly felt like such a full-circle moment for me. The last time I went, I was a single woman, and now I’m walking in with my husband and our two kids (1 and 3). I take you along from the “getting out the door” chaos (my husband’s super cute shoe/jacket setup is a lifesaver) all the way to the exhibits—starfish, octopus, anemones, sea urchins, and even a massive Japanese spider crab that made me laugh because it looked like it was holding its head. Inside, I loved that the aquarium feels bright and easy to move through with little ones. The escalator/people-mover moment was such a hit, and the real wow was the sharks swimming overhead—my toddler could not stop looking up. We also found those adorable little “under the tank” windows and a bunch of interactive areas, including water play (which, if you’re a toddler parent, you already know is everything). We wrapped it up with pizza, then I share my honest pacing tips: we finished without rushing in about 2 hours, but you could easily spend 3 if your kids want to linger in the play zones.
