In this video I walk you through two big things on the Valeton GP-5: how to power it, and how to use it for recording. I start with the quick hardware tour—volume knob (V), the power knob, the headphone out, the input jack for your guitar, and the single button. The whole point here is portability: it’s tiny, but you can still send your signal to headphones, a sound card, front-of-house, or a combo/speaker without any drama. For power, I show the two options that make the GP-5 super seamless: a 9V adapter (I’m using a 9V 1A supply) or USB-C. The USB-C route is especially flexible because you can run it from a phone brick, a power bank at a gig, or even straight from your computer’s USB port—and it just turns on automatically. Then I jump into recording: I plug it into my computer and use it like a soundcard/interface in my DAW (I demo in GarageBand). On Windows you’ll want the Valeton ASIO driver; on Mac you don’t really need it. Finally, I connect the mobile app (Bluetooth + location), and show how that single button can be set to A–Z patch mode, CTRL switch, or tuner—so you can toggle effects like the noise gate/mod block without bending down mid-play.
