In this beginner guide I walk you through every single port on the back of the HeadRush Pedalboard, because once you actually know what each jack does, setting up for a gig or a session gets way easier. I start with the main input (guitar, keyboard, whatever you’re running), then I cover the Expression 2 jack if you want to add an external expression pedal. After that I show the Aux In for playing along with songs or loops through the unit. From there I break down outputs properly: XLR Left/Right, the Ground Lift switch for dealing with hum, and the 1/4" Left/Right outs. I also explain the Amp/Line level toggle—Amp for going into an amp/combo, Line for going straight to a mixer/interface. Then we hit the headphone output, the stereo FX loop (send/return) and the Stomp/Rack level switch (default is Stomp). Finally, I point out the MIDI In and Out/Thru, the USB-B port for connecting to your laptop/desktop and streaming audio into your DAW, plus the power switch and power specs (100–240V, 50/60Hz, 1.2A). Bonus: this thing is bigger than it looks—about 2 ft wide and 1 ft long—and the bottom grips help it stay put on slippery stages.
