In this video I break down the EQ block on the Valeton GP200 and show you how to actually use it to fix real tone problems fast—muddy lows, harsh highs, weak mids, fizz, and that digital hiss. I start with where to find the EQ in the signal chain (just click the EQ block), then I run through the different EQ types you get on the GP200: Guitar EQ1/2, Bass EQ1/2, the Mesa Boogie-style 5-band EQ, and the Hyper EQ (10-band). I also explain the “zero line” concept—when your sliders are at zero, the EQ is doing nothing—and how the GP200’s slider values translate to a max of ±12 dB. Then I go frequency-by-frequency with practical, musical takeaways. 80–120 Hz adds body and warmth (or gets cut if it’s too heavy). 120–250 Hz is where you cut to remove muddiness. Around 1 kHz brings fullness, but cutting it can remove that honky feel. 1–2 kHz adds attack/definition, while cutting tames harsh edges. 2–4 kHz is bite (cut if it’s piercing), 4–6 kHz is clarity (cut fizz), 6–8 kHz adds sparkle, and 8–10 kHz+ adds air (cut to reduce hiss/digital phase).
