About This Video

In this build I finally tackled the backyard tool shed I’ve been needing to organize all my junk—tools, materials, and all the random project leftovers that never seem to have a home. I walk you through the process step by step, the way I actually build: real tools, real decisions, and the stuff I’d do again (and the stuff I’d change). This is part one of the full shed build, and part two is coming at the end of September. Along the way I cover the materials and little upgrades that make a shed feel finished instead of temporary—like getting the siding right (and the tools that make it way less annoying), dialing in the color (I used Lowe’s Balanced Beige), and setting up a clean base area with pavers, paver bases, and polymeric sand. I also share some of the gear I’m using on this project—from metal shears and hook blades to safety glasses—and a couple extras I’m into lately like solid work socks and portable backup power if you want peace of mind at home. If you’re planning a backyard storage shed, this is the full “start-to-structure” roadmap to get you moving.
