In Part 1 of this 2024 Ford Transit camper van build, I’m knocking out the big “cut and drill” stuff up top—roof rack, solar panels, a MaxxAir fan, and an AC unit. This is the phase where planning matters, because every hole you make in the roof has to be sealed right and placed right. I walk through the order I like to do it in so you’re not fighting yourself later when wiring and interior work starts. I also talk through the power side of the build and why having a solid power station matters, especially if you’re working on job sites or you want real backup power when you’re off-grid.
