About This Video

Hello everyone, welcome back to BFX Factory once again. In this Unreal Engine 5.5 beach tutorial, I show you how to create a stunning tropical beach environment using a simple, beginner-friendly approach—no advanced tools like PCG or PFS, and no coding. We start from an empty level, do a clean light setup (Directional Light, Skylight, Sky Atmosphere, Volumetric Cloud, Exponential Height Fog), and I also show you the Environment Light Mixer so you can control everything from one place. Then we create a landscape and use Water Body Ocean to automatically generate that smooth beach slope. After that, I build a proper 3-layer landscape material using free Quixel/Fab surfaces (sand, grass, and a wet sand/debris style layer). I explain how to set up Landscape Layer Blend, create a material instance for easy tiling control, and paint layers properly. For the wet shoreline look, I add a simple roughness control using a multiply + parameter so you can dial in the reflection like a real wet beach. Finally, I focus on detailing: placing a free beach/villa pack, doing basic sculpt + flatten for simple hills, and adding vegetation layer-by-layer (small grass, medium plants, larger tropical plants, then coconut trees). I also add Megascans rocks and pebbles near the coast. Take your time with placement—this is where the scene becomes beautiful.
