Hello everyone, welcome back to BFX Factory once again. In this video I create a beautiful riverside cottage environment from scratch inside Unreal Engine 5—forest, house, river, and background mountains. I start with a clean empty level and do the basic light setup (Directional Light, Skylight, etc.). I also show a quick workflow tip: Skylight set to Real Time Capture and Directional Light to Movable, so you can iterate fast while building the scene. After that I create the landscape and sculpt a simple river path, and I use the Third Person character just to scale everything properly (super important for environment work). Then I enable the Water plugin and use Water Body Custom to match my river shape. For the landscape look, I quickly apply a Megascans ground surface and adjust tiling if needed—because later I’m covering everything with grass, foliage, and rocks anyway. The main highlight is PCG (Procedural Content Generation). I enable the PCG framework, build a simple PCG Graph for grass and rocks using Surface Sampler → Transform Points → Static Mesh Spawner, and then I show the most important part: removing grass from rock areas using Bounds Modifier + Difference (Binary density). Finally, I add free marketplace mountains for the background, set up a cinematic camera in Sequencer, and render high quality EXR with console variables like r.ScreenPercentage 200, then import the image sequence into Premiere Pro for final export.
