We’re on our way to Ottawa and I’m already in my feelings because music festivals are actually back. I flew in (thank god we weren’t doing Via Rail or driving) and we stayed in a hotel—Holiday Inn, not sponsored—because I’m sorry but having your own bed and a microwave just hits different than an Airbnb. Day one starts exactly how it should: first drink of the day, getting ready in a complete mess, and me side-eyeing the loud 20-year-olds next door at 3 a.m. Like yes, you’re at a festival… but I’m trying to sleep. Then it’s Escapade time: the walk is brutal (Toronto prepares you for at least two kilometers, okay), the vibes are insane, and it honestly feels so good after two years. I wasn’t even there for the Chainsmokers—my whole mission was Gareth Emery and then I got fully dragged by the energy. Day two we do our usual tradition: bounce in, chill vibes, save our energy with an Uber, and deal with the reality of festival rules (RIP my joints because they weren’t sealed). Between the heat, making random friends, getting shoved in crowds, and a very overpriced-but-worth-it gummy break, this vlog is basically me documenting the chaos, the serotonin, and why Escapade 2021 felt like a mini EDC.
