I walk you through the categories I shopped in (reading materials, study materials, calligraphy practice sheets, HSK resources, and stationery), plus the little disclaimers I always feel like I need to make when I’m testing budget items online. Then we get into the fun part: the unboxing. I review each item one by one and give my honest rating, focusing on what would realistically fit into a holistic language learning routine—things that make it easier to read more Chinese, write more Chinese, and stay motivated long enough for it to matter. I also share what I’d personally keep using versus what feels more like a “cute but not essential” purchase. If you’re curious whether cheap Chinese graded-ish readers, primary school workbooks, HSK vocab/test booklets, and reusable character practice books are worth it, this is basically my experiment so you don’t have to waste your money. And yes, I also review the stationery because sometimes the tiny joy items are what keep the routine alive.
