About This Video

In this video I’m talking about language learning burnout — what it actually looks like in my day-to-day, what tends to trigger it, and what I do when I can feel it creeping in. For me, burnout isn’t just “I don’t feel motivated.” It’s usually a mix of mental fatigue, frustration, and that heavy feeling of forcing myself through routines that normally feel nourishing. Because I take a holistic approach to language learning, I’m always looking at the full picture: my energy, my schedule, my expectations, and whether my study system is supporting me or draining me. I also walk through common burnout triggers: doing too much for too long, being overly rigid with goals, comparing my progress, and forgetting that rest is part of the process. Then I share practical solutions I reach for: adjusting intensity instead of quitting entirely, switching to lighter immersion, changing the “mode” (reading, listening, speaking) to keep things fresh, and revisiting my why. My general advice is to treat burnout as information, not a personal failure — and to rebuild a sustainable routine that fits your real life, not an idealized version of it.
