This is my last study recap of 2024, and honestly it felt so satisfying to sit down and take stock of everything I managed to do before the year ended. In this video I walk you through my December goals first (what I planned, what I actually prioritized, and why), and then I break down my month across Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and my linguistics studies. It’s very much a “realistic recap” — what worked, what I had to simplify, and how I kept momentum without burning out. For Japanese, I share what I focused on in terms of higher-level input and output, including the kinds of reading and writing practice that feel most aligned with my holistic approach. For Mandarin, I talk about how my online Chinese lessons have been going and how I’ve been supporting them with structured materials (especially HSK-focused study) plus lighter, story-based reading to keep things enjoyable. I also recap my linguistics progress on Coursera and how I balanced it alongside language immersion. To finish, I reflect on the milestones I hit in December and what they mean for my 2025 direction — not just “more hours,” but better systems, clearer goals, and study that actually fits my life.
