In this study vlog, I put myself through a very specific (and honestly kind of intense) challenge: I spent a month sorting through my Japanese vocabulary. Instead of just endlessly collecting new words, I wanted to actually face the messy reality of my vocab lists and make them usable again. I walk you through what I’m highlighting, what my objectives are, and how my different vocab lists are broken down—because the “where is this word living?” problem is usually the reason review starts feeling impossible. I recap the challenge day by day, including why I decided to do it, and why I chose to do it all in one go rather than dragging it out forever. I also share the exact way I sort my Yomiwa lists so they stop being a random pile and start supporting immersion (reading, daily exposure, and repeated encounters). The big takeaway: holistic language learning isn’t just input—it’s also maintaining your systems so your motivation doesn’t die under admin chaos.
