I’m testing a mix of Western niche, designer, and affordable Middle Eastern fragrances, and I’m calling it exactly how I smell it: either it’s a pass, I’m on the fence, or I need a bottle like yesterday. And honestly? This was one of those rare sampling days where nothing was a hard dislike—some were strong likes, and a few were immediate “okay, that’s full-bottle energy.” We start with decants from Olena’s Aroma Shop (Forbidden Nectar and Pear Addiction), and I break down what I’m getting note-by-note—like Forbidden Nectar shifting into a realistic, juicy peach-led dry down, and Pear Addiction delivering one of the most realistic pear notes I’ve smelled in a long time (plus a powdery fruity dry down). Then I get into an affordable Middle Eastern find (Vanilla Florel) that genuinely gives me Guerlain Vanille Planifolia 21 vibes, and a hyped niche sample (Pernoire Anelo) that turns into a “wait… is this Vibra?” moment for me in the dry down. I also revisit Creed Jardin d’Amalfi (that neroli + fresh spicy citrus is so spring/summer), fall hard for Christian Louboutin’s creamy green fig-sandalwood moment, and end with Zimaya Wujood giving me a Babycat-meets-Rosendo Mateu No. 5 impression right out the gate.
