In this video, I take a detailed, real world look at the Reolink Duo 3 PoE security camera, covering unboxing, installation, app setup, and long term real world testing. The Reolink Duo 3 PoE uses a dual lens design to create a true 180 degree panoramic field of view. Instead of installing two separate cameras to cover a wide area, this single camera stitches both lenses together to provide a seamless wide angle image with no blind spots in the centre. Image quality is excellent both during the day and at night. The camera supports high resolution video, colour night vision using the built in spotlights, and infrared night vision when the spotlights are disabled. I show how the image looks at different distances, in daylight, and in low light conditions, so you can see exactly what to expect in real use. Motion detection is handled locally on the camera and supports person, vehicle, and animal detection. Alerts can be customised in detail, allowing you to reduce false notifications and focus only on the events that matter. The built in spotlight and siren can be triggered automatically or manually, adding an extra layer of deterrence. I walk through the full setup process, including fitting a micro SD card for local recording, mounting the camera using the included bracket, waterproofing the PoE connection, and configuring the camera inside the Reolink app. I also explore the full settings menus, including video quality options, alarm settings, audio controls, and network configuration. For advanced smart home users, I show how to integrate the camera into Home Assistant, and then bridge it into Apple HomeKit to enable HomeKit Secure Video. This allows events to be recorded securely to iCloud while keeping the camera itself fully local with no mandatory cloud subscription. I also explain why I recommend manually adjusting brightness and image settings rather than leaving everything on automatic, and how this can significantly improve image quality in real world conditions. Local recording is supported via micro SD card or a Reolink NVR, giving you full control over your footage. This camera is powered using Power over Ethernet, which means a single cable provides both power and data. If you do not have a PoE switch, Reolink also offers a separate power adapter option, allowing the camera to be used with standard ethernet networking. This is an honest review. Reolink kindly sent me this camera to test, but they had no control over what I say in this video. I am not being paid for this review, and all opinions are my own. If you are looking for a wide angle PoE security camera that works well with Home Assistant and HomeKit Secure Video, this video should give you a clear idea of whether the Reolink Duo 3 PoE is right for your setup. ⸻ Discount and Purchase Links You can get 5 percent off the Reolink Duo 3 PoE using the link and code below.
