I’ve been running Linux tests for about three weeks, and this video is basically my “Linux everyday carry” after living on Pop!_OS for the past month. I’m on a P16 running Pop, and yeah—Linux has been fun, but it’s also been a bit of a “if something breaks, you solve it yourself” situation. I walk through the hiccups I’ve hit (like suspend/sleep not behaving, and an integrated graphics switch that straight up bricked my boot into a black screen because of an Nvidia init bug), plus how I’ve been troubleshooting—honestly, more ChatGPT than Stack Overflow lately. The big goal here was building a MacBook-like workflow, but with Linux flexibility and gaming in the mix. I talk battery life testing (it’s my main complaint: roughly 1.5 to 3 hours depending on workload), why I’m trying to get better efficiency with iGPU, and what’s actually been amazing—DaVinci Resolve editing, the OLED panel, and gaming like Starfield. I also show how I’ve integrated the S25 Ultra into my laptop workflow using KDE Connect and LocalSend, plus remote work through Parsec.
