About This Video

Seven days, three countries, and one phone: I took the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra with me across Finland, Sweden, and Norway while we shot the new Porsche Cayenne Electric Turbo. This wasn’t a lab test or a staged “demo day”—it was jet lag, 12-hour drives, Android Auto, Waze, Netflix, Spotify, emails, hotspotting my laptop, and shooting RAW + log whenever a moment opened up. I even decided to run it without a case (yes, I dropped it… face-planted… and it survived), because I wanted to see what the new aluminum chassis is really like in the wild. Battery is the big headline for me. Compared to my S25 Ultra experience—where Android Auto used to eat battery like crazy—the S26 Ultra held up way better in real travel conditions. Camera-wise, I shot a ton in Expert RAW and spent a lot of time in Lightroom, and I genuinely feel like I can push these files further: highlights don’t clip as fast, yellows feel better handled, and the 5X telephoto can pull insane detail (when the subject isn’t too far). I also walk through my One UI 8.5 setup—Good Lock, One Hand Operation+, LocalSend, and my hotspot workflow—because that’s the stuff that actually makes the phone usable when you’re working on the road.
