I show you my “human tone writing mode” to remove the obvious AI tells (like em dashes and those recycled words), how I test the difference, and how to save the behavior using Custom Instructions. Then I go deeper with metaprompting—using ChatGPT to rewrite and sharpen your prompts—so you can build reusable “master prompts” for things like turning a transcript into titles, chapters, descriptions, pinned comments, polls, and even an email to your list. From there, I tackle two big problems: ChatGPT’s tendency to sound artificial and its tendency to be psychophantic (telling you what you want to hear). I demonstrate how wildly the tone changes depending on whether you say “I wrote this” vs “someone sent this,” then I fix it with an unfiltered reflection prompt. Finally, I show lesser-known modes and features—Canvas, transcription, Advanced Voice, Temporary Chat, the browser experience, and Scheduled Tasks—plus self-awareness workflows like building a personal operating system, dream analysis, future-self prompts, and even image-based presence/handwriting analysis. The point is simple: used properly, AI can make you more effective and, weirdly, more human.
