Since 2020, I’ve felt a shift in America that I can’t unsee—and I know I’m not the only one. In this video I talk about that “sleepwalking” feeling: watching people go through the motions while the cost of food, housing, insurance, and just basic living keeps climbing. I share why so many conversations that used to be dismissed as “fringe” are now happening at the dinner table, at work, and online—because the math doesn’t math anymore, and trust in institutions has collapsed. From my homestead preparedness lens, I’m looking at the bigger picture: when people don’t trust the story they’re being sold, they start asking different questions. I talk about the anger people feel when billions disappear with no accountability while families are squeezed harder every month—and then get shamed for noticing. I also touch on the tightening “window of freedom,” including fears around digital ID, travel restrictions/“essential employee” language, surveillance tech, and how quickly life can become harder to navigate if you’re trying to stay independent. My takeaway is simple: the old “everything will be okay” era is gone, and it’s not coming back. So the question becomes: do we stay quiet and let it play out, or do we get serious about resilience—financial, practical, and personal—for our kids and grandkids?
