That’s the “end result” of the grind: communities slipping, rural America getting crushed, and the middle class eroding into a K-shaped economy where the rich get richer and everyone else fights to stay afloat. I also dig into the idea that we have empty houses sitting everywhere while people are homeless, and I believe local initiatives—not more federal dollars—could help refurbish properties and give people a real leg up.
