These are the kinds of gifts I always lean towards: calm, open-ended toys that actually get used, and little additions that support real play (and real life) rather than just adding clutter. For my three year old, I focus on practical, fun things like bath stickers and DIY bath soaps, plus proper child scissors (I really despise the plastic ones that cut literally nothing). I also talk through bigger play items like a pop-up tunnel for gross motor play, magnetic tiles (honestly the number one most recommended toy for this age for good reason), an astronaut Duplo set for the space phase, kinetic sand with construction vehicles, and screen-free audio with a Yoto player. I finish with puzzles and a big stack of book ideas—including flap books and feelings/friendship titles—then share the few baby-friendly picks that are genuinely worth it at 10 months.
