In this video I’m sharing everything I bought for my little one starting nursery at 3 years old. We’re in the UK (I’m in Scotland), and his nursery is outdoors a lot, so I focused on practical things that will actually get used—plus the boring-but-essential bits like labelling. I’m excited and also a bit nervous, so doing a nursery essentials haul like this helps me feel more prepared. I start with name tags from My Nametags because the nursery told me they’re essential. I went for the sticker ones (I like things easy and simple) and I’ll update you on how well they stay on. Then I show the outdoor basics: dinosaur wellies and a Regatta all-in-one waterproof suit, which we’ve had before in a smaller size and I genuinely love because it lasts so long—even with how hard Samuel is on his clothes. I also picked up loads of socks, new pants in the next size up, and George Pig slippers for the odd times they’re indoors. Finally, I talk through a personalised nursery starter pack (backpack, lunch bag, bottle, lunchbox, little bag) and ice packs for keeping lunch cool—simple, calm preparation that makes the first transition feel a bit less overwhelming.
