About This Video

In this video I’m sharing a full week of healthy, balanced nursery lunches I packed for my son, Samuel (age 3). I show five different lunch ideas, what I actually put in the lunchbox, and then I tell you what he really ate—because toddlers are going to toddler, and I think it’s helpful not to take it too personally when something comes back untouched. I also quickly show the lunchbox I’m using (a YumBox) and why I find it so handy for little ones who like “bits of lots of different things.” Across the week you’ll see simple, realistic combinations like a cheese and jam sandwich (yes, I cut it into a heart because I was feeling extra), softened carrots, strawberries, yoghurt tubes, wraps (including peanut butter and jam), quartered grapes, and leftovers like cooked chicken. I also share a couple of “treat” bits like chocolate buttons or chocolate chips, and I talk about balancing textures—Samuel loves crunchy food, so I often add something dry and crunchy when the rest of the lunch is a bit wetter. My biggest takeaway is to keep it calm and simple, offer variety, and remember nursery often includes snacks too—so a smaller lunch can still be enough.
