In this video I’m sharing my 3–6 month toy and activity favourites for my son (he was about six and a bit months when I filmed). I always say this age range is huge—at three months they’re often barely doing anything, and then suddenly a few months later they’re grabbing, chewing, rolling, and even starting to move. So I go through ideas from the “very first grabbing” stage right through to the toys that can encourage crawling. I start with super simple sensory wins (including my very noisy foil “fire blanket” hack), then move into easy-to-grasp favourites like the Oball, black and white books (especially ones with faces), and Lamaze-style sensory toys like Freddie the Firefly. I also share a few teethers my baby actually loves, plus cloth and “indestructible” books for little hands that want to scrunch and chew everything. Towards the end I cover Montessori-inspired options like interlocking discs and rolling toys that motivate babies to move, and I also talk about one of my biggest tips: you don’t need loads of toys. A treasure basket with safe household objects (metal spoon, whisk, wooden spoon, different textures) can be just as exciting—babies love “real” things.
