Today’s gig vlog is a little different because I’m going back to a wedding venue I haven’t played in five years—the Yacht Club of Sea Isle City. In 2020 I played this exact spot with my old band, Evolution X, and in 2025 I’m back with The Ever After Band. The whole point is to compare what changed: not just the venue setup (COVID outdoor parking-lot dance floor vs. full-capacity indoor production), but how I show up mentally, how I experience the night, and how much my playing and gear have evolved. I take you behind the scenes from the guitarist’s point of view: the travel grind (two-plus hour drives by yourself… I’m over the 2:30am drive-home life), load-in, the room, and what it feels like when the crowd energy starts building. One of my favorite parts of these weddings is seeing different cultures and family traditions up close—especially during speeches—because from the bandstand you really do feel like you’re part of it. Gear-wise, I’m running two guitars that basically haven’t “met” until this gig: my PRS 2408 back in the arsenal with 57/08 pickups and a full refinish, plus my Majesty Nebula #1 with a newly re-voiced PASO channel. And yes… Chipotle for lunch. Always.
