About This Video

In this video I’m doing something I rarely touch on this channel: cables. Lavricables sent me their Master Line V4 Silver (a silver litz, true balanced IEM upgrade cable) and I told them upfront I’m going to be very honest—because I’ve never found a strong relationship between cable price and sound quality. For me, most cable purchases are impulse buys for aesthetics and build, not because I expect a night-and-day audio upgrade. I tested the Lavricables Master Line against a copper cable that’s basically “as different as it gets,” using my U12t and Shanling M9 Plus, and I even burned the cable in because that’s what the manufacturer recommends. Sound-wise, the differences I noted were small: the silver cable felt a bit more “focused” in the mids, the soundstage presentation was slightly different (a touch more height vs flatter-but-wider), and the bass felt a bit cleaner/tighter with less decay compared to the copper cable’s slightly more energetic, boomy feel. That said, these are subtle enough that I’m not confident I’d nail it in a blind test. Where the Master Line really stands out is the physical side: it looks cool, feels premium, wraps easily, and doesn’t tangle. If you’re into upgrade cables, I’m genuinely curious—are you buying for sound, build, or just looks?
