In this video I walk you through Insta360’s 2025 summer update for the X5—firmware, software, and the new accessories I’ve been beta testing for quite a long time. I literally have two X5 units in hand, updated one to the latest firmware, and I’m focusing on the features that actually change how you shoot day-to-day. The one I’ve been dreaming about is Single Lens Pure Video: up to 4K 30fps, and it genuinely feels like you’ve got a first‑gen Ace Pro living inside the X5 (same image sensor). I also break down Adaptive Tone—because in 360 you’re capturing light from every direction, high contrast is basically guaranteed. With the triple AI chipset saving more environment brightness data, the export re-analyzes your frames and optimizes dynamic range and exposure for things like sky, forest, and faces. I also cover Endurance Mode improvements—up to 8K 30fps for around 150 minutes on one charge—plus Insta360 Studio 2.5.0 with Quick Export coming back, and the upgraded Insta360+ cloud workflow (I upload a lot—like half a terabyte—so this matters). Then we get into the hardware: ND filters (16/32/64) for real, physical motion blur with auto detection; the redesigned Dive Case Pro with pro-grade glass for better underwater clarity; the new 2800mAh “Ultra” battery; and my most exciting accessory: GPS Preview Remote V2 with a built-in mic and 32-bit float internal recording as backup audio. To me, this summer update is the starting point—X5 has room to grow, and July/August 2025 is going to be a very wonderful time for 360 cameras.
