In this video I tested the brand new Insta360 X5 Utility Fast Charging Case, and honestly it’s a brilliant design—first of its kind for the X5. It’s exclusively compatible with X5, and the whole idea is simple: drop in two X5 batteries, lock them in, and you’ve got a compact, portable fast-charging setup that can also double as a power bank. I also love the little practical touches like the colorful status lights, the clean texture and logo, and the fact you can carry up to three microSD cards on the back—lock and go. I ran real charging tests using my meter (showing voltage and amps in real time). With the built-in Type‑C cable, I saw around 9V/3A—over 27W—while charging two batteries at the same time, which is really, really fast. With only one battery in the slot, it climbed to around 24W. It’s slightly slower than charging directly in-camera (I’ve seen ~27W there), and I suspect a proper PD adapter would help hit the rated 12V/3A input, but in real use it’s still lightning fast. With the X5 internal battery plus two spares in this case, you’re basically set for heavy-duty shooting for a full day.
