The Winter Update is not just a small firmware patch—honestly it feels like it redefined the X5 from the ground up. InstaFrame 2.0 upgrades single-lens “InstaFrame” capture all the way to 4K 30fps, and the interface feels like Insta360 basically migrated the Flow-style gimbal experience into the X5. You get virtual gimbal behavior, face tracking, framing presets (like 360 spin and barrel roll), distortion correction, and pitch lock/follow/FPV modes—so it’s like having a pocket gimbal camera inside a 360 camera. Then I go deep on the FreeFrame Selfie Stick, which is a software-defined accessory that brings that virtual joystick into the real world.
