In this video I’m testing the Insta360 GO Ultra — a “ultra size tiny mighty” action cam that’s basically built for hands-free real life, especially if you’re chasing kids all day. I break down what’s new versus GO 3/GO 3S: it’s a bit larger and heavier, the magnetic quick system is redesigned (so it’s not cross-compatible), and the big headline is the sensor. GO Ultra uses a 1/1.28" type sensor (same class as Ace Pro 2 and X5), which is a huge jump from the older GO line, and it shows in both daylight and low light. I walk through the specs and the menu options I actually care about: 4K60 (with a slightly tighter FOV), 4K30 with a wider view, Active HDR (up to 30fps), full-sensor 4:3 “FreeFrame,” FlowState stabilization modes, and PureVideo up to 4K30 thanks to the AI chipset. I also tested charging: the action pod system charges crazy fast (around 24W) and can hit 80% in minutes, plus you can charge while shooting. Finally, I cover the accessories that make GO Ultra feel like a “dad camera”: the Ring Remote (must-have when you don’t have spare fingers), the higher-quality quick wrist strap, the charging base, ND filters, Easy Clip/headband setups, and the close-up lens that lets you focus around 10cm for macro-style “mosquito view” shots of kids and details.
