Chair Twists - Iyengar Yoga for Beginners. 20 minute yoga practice. Twists are great yoga poses for health and wellbeing. They make the spine more flexible and tone the paraspinal muscles, they massage the internal organs like the liver and kidneys, and they stimulate the digestive system and the immune system. Unless there is a health problem which means that twists are contra-indicated, (if you are not sure, go to an Iyengar Yoga teacher local to you and ask), then you should be including twists in your daily yoga practice.
