I start the way I actually work in real life: grab a couple of top loops for inspiration, find a thumpy kick that isn’t too bassy, then tighten everything up by ear (because yes, loops can drift and you’ll hear it if you trust your ears). From there I layer a clap carefully so it doesn’t bully the groove, add a hat that fills the pocket, and do quick EQ moves to kill that annoying mid frequency and keep the hat sitting in the background. Then I move into the fun part: pads, textures, and movement. I use a morphing pad vibe, sidechain it for balance, and stack layers (including a “happy accident” sound that ended up being the sauce). The whole track is basically automation and human expression — reverb rides, cutoff sweeps, and even recording automation by hand with the mouse. I also show how I set up my own reverb send so multiple sounds can share the same space, then I push into experimental pitch movement and a punchy synthetic bassline that keeps it dark and groovy. The takeaway is simple: this vibe comes from decisions, mistakes, and movement — AI can’t do that randomness and feel the way a human can.
