In this video I’m checking out the Wishdoit Hourglass Skeleton Quartz watch—and yeah, it’s quartz even though it looks like a skeleton mechanical. It actually tripped me up at first because you’ve got “gears,” a “balance wheel,” and all the skeleton vibes, but it’s basically artistic/fake mechanical scenery over a Citizen Miyota 2035 quartz movement. The battery is hidden under that circular disc in the middle, and with the 2035 you’re looking at about a three-year battery life. The big takeaway: if you want the skeleton look without the winding/resetting, this is pure grab-and-go reliability until the battery dies. I go over the build and the wear, because this is a larger watch on paper but it still sits comfortably on wrist (and that always surprises me with this style). You get a curved mineral crystal that’s sapphire coated up front, mineral on the back, a 316L stainless case with gold-tone PVD, and a multi-layer brass dial with a ton of open area around the perimeter. It’s 43mm wide, 50.5mm case length, and 15.2mm thick—so not sleeve friendly—but it wears nicely thanks in large part to the FKM-style strap (Florine rubber) that tapers from 29mm to 20mm. I also show the lume: 12 lume pips, lume on the hour/minute hands, plus the hourglass curves are lumed front and back, and for the price (about $114 when I checked) it’s honestly pretty decent.
