In this unboxing, I’m cracking open another watch loan from Peter C (seriously, this is like the third or fourth one he’s sent in, and I really appreciate it). I’m fighting with my box cutter like usual, but once I finally get the package open, we’ve got a Timex Waterbury with a really cool sector dial. As soon as I saw “Waterbury” on the dial, it clicked what it was, and it’s a nice-looking piece right out of the box. I take it off the pillow and give you the quick first impressions: the caseback looks great and it’s marked “Established 1854,” stainless steel (so it’s not one of those brass cases), and it’s rated to 100 meters water resistant. On wrist, it wears a little smaller, and it looks a bit thick for a quartz watch, but the crown is a nice size and it’s a push/pull (not screw-down). The strap surprised me in a good way—soft, comfortable, and with plenty of holes left for smaller wrists.
