This week, a surprise flash flood hit our off-grid homestead—and three of our culverts completely disappeared. Buried under mud, gravel, and debris, we had figure out a way to find them and repair them before the next rain storm. With shovels in hand and a metal detector guiding the way, we dug them out just in time to prevent major damage to our road.
