So in the middle of large snow storm, I thought it could be the perfect time to install 4 new 320 watt solar panels on our shipping container roof. We've been struggling with generating enough electricity in our off grid containers to run heating appliances in the winter, and these new panels along with 4 new 48V 50Ah self-heating LiFePO4 batteries, are going to be a huge addition to our system to get us through more cloudy days. Running solar in Upstate NY is a bit of a challenge, but slowly we are figuring out how to balance a system that could run a house, how large to size the solar array, and what type of battery bank would work best.
