Dana turns 30! and a WINDY sail tests our limits... | Boat Life Ep. 27

How do you like to celebrate your birthday? For me turning 30 this year, all I wanted to do was enjoy the fact that we had finally made our boat life dream a reality. A short sail turned into quite an adventure (though I have to say I don't feel like the camera does the waves justice in this one!) and I had a great time enjoying a slow-paced day on the water. Lou and I met when we were just 19 years old studying abroad in Barcelona, and the decade that follows is something I never ever could have predicted for myself. Moving abroad to Berlin, buying a beat-up old van, traveling around Europe doing the whole van life thing, and then now dropping all of that to buy a boat with the big dream of sailing around the world. My 20s were wild, but for some reason, I think my 30s will be even crazier and I couldn't be happier than to have started out this next chapter aboard Penelope.
