In this stream I decided to do something I’ve wanted to do for a while: dig through voice claims for my OCs—mostly by listening to clips and seeing if my brain goes “yep, that’s them.” I set up a Google Form and also a Milanote board where I dumped the characters, their lore, and the “voice requirements” (aka the vibes I’m hunting for). It’s not full-on voice acting—nothing is getting acted right now—but it’s me trying to pin down how each character would sound in my head. We start with Darcy because, shocker, the scrunkly gremlin side character is the fan favorite. Darcy is non-binary (they/them) and I’m specifically looking for an androgynous-to-femme-leaning voice that has mandatory chaos energy—no “normal” allowed. We test stuff like Jinx (Arcane) and talk about why certain reads work (unhinged, energetic) and why others don’t (too depressed, too low-energy, too “anime voice” for what I want). The big takeaway: I’m not just picking a voice, I’m looking for a voice that supports character design and storytelling—energy, texture, and cadence matter as much as pitch.
