This week’s update is mostly me catching you up on what’s been going on around Unkyjoe’s Playhouse—starting with the big win: South Texas is finally acting like spring. We’ve got some rain rolling through (I’ll take every drop), but that gray overcast isn’t the best solar showcase. Even so, I showed what the system is doing on a cloudy day, and then we dug into the real progress: once my neighbor kid helped me clear the weeds and junk around the panels, my production jumped. On sunny days I’m averaging around 9–10 kWh on the 24V side, and the 48V house system has been putting up some seriously good winter numbers too—feast or famine, but when it hits, it hits. I also talked through where I’m at with the channel: I’m still here, I’m just making videos when I can because long-form “teach you how to do the thing” videos take real time. Going forward I’m organizing content into series (Proxmox, Hyper-V/Windows lab, retro builds, etc.), plus some off-topic life stuff like cooking videos I keep promising. On the IT side, I had a weird Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC update/install issue and fixed it with an in-place reinstall from my original ISO (kept my settings/domain). And yeah—Discord is wearing me out, so I’m looking at moving the community to forum software (phpBB) and using something like Zoom for afterparties.
