If you love next level mountain bike rock tech look no further! Boulderdash is a premier double black tech trail located at Hawes in Mesa Arizona. It is filled with huge rock slabs and boulders that will be sure to challenge your MTB skills. Everything has a go-around making this an idea section to work on your progression, but make no mistake, this trail is build for advanced level riders. If you love picking your way through challenging terrain and pushing your limits, I would highly recommend checking it out! Trail Details: Boulderdash is labled Double Black on Trailforks and is approximately 1.1 miles. It’s mostly downhill with a few punchy ups scattered throughout. Along with difficult rock gardens, boulders and slabs, it also features a couple drops and gap jumps. Everything is built well with go-arounds for every feature. You can reach Boulderdash by taking Lower Gidro and it is clearly labeled. Once you are on the trail, there are plenty of white markers spray painted on the rocks to help you navigate. However, I did not find them to always be the best line choice so keep your eyes open for alternate lines. We parked at the Canal/Hawes Trail Head and rode into Hawes (about 2 miles of road and gravel) but there are plenty of other options for parking throughout the Hawes Trail Network. But no matter where you park you will have to climb so have your fitness game on point.
