One of the best ways to break bad habits and improve your mountain bike skills is to record yourself. It will give you immediate feedback on your technique, and works for MTB riders of all ability levels. Watching “how-to” videos can be very beneficial, but that’s only one part. The next step is to apply those lessons to the trail. Taking videos of yourself may seem embarrassing, but those images can tell you a lot about what you’re doing wrong. I mean let’s face it, sometimes how you feel you look can be very different from how you actually look. Some of the things I look for when studying a video are timing, body position, technique, and approach. You don’t need an expensive camera, the phone in your pocket will work great. Having that instant feedback that you can use to apply to your next run is invaluable. And this method doesn’t just work for jumps, you can utilize it on anything, like drops and log overs too. If you’ve used this method before let me know what you think. Or if you do something different, please share it in the comments. Finally, if you feel I missed anything, or you have a question you would like me to answer for the next TrailTalk, let me know that in the comments below too. #MTBTips #MTB #MTBAdvice #MountainBike ADDITIONAL INFO: To see the review of the Telesin monopod I was using click the link below. https://youtu.be/GtykFEaJM5s If you are interested in purchasing the Telesin 35.5” Monopod please consider using the link below.
