Looking for an old school freeride destination? Grab your mountain bike and get over to Trumbull in Fairfield County, Connecticut. This place absolutely pushed our limits and had us grinning from ear to ear. In fact, there were so many features that I couldn’t fit it all in my regular video. So if you are looking for more check out the extended cut on Patreon using the link below. It tells a better story and includes a few more features that highlight what this place is all about. Trumbull Extended Cut https://www.patreon.com/posts/trumbull-cut-90731359 Also known as Pequonnock River Valley State Park, these trails boast some of the toughest slabs, drops and tech in New England. The difficulty level ranges from intermediate to advanced, but you have to have your head on a swivel because a lot of the features are off to the sides. One of the most iconic slabs is called “The Wall” which is a ridiculously steep 30 foot roller. It’s not for the faint of heart and you may want to watch someone do it first. I made a shirt commemorating it, so if you are interested in that click here: https://trailsage.myspreadshop.com/the+wall In summary, this place is a lot of fun especially if you are a rider looking to push your limits. However, most of the good stuff is not labeled, or on Trailforks, so hooking up with a local is probably your best option. Having said that, a huge thank you to Evan, Rob and Sam for showing us around! ROUTE SUGGESTIONS: Normally I would suggest following our route, but your best bet is to hook up with someone who knows the area. When Sam and Evan eventually left us, we struggled to find our way through the park. And it wasn’t until we ran into Rob at the end that the intensity and fun picked back up. However, if you are still interested in checking out our route, I left the Strava and Trailforks below.
