“Every inch is a battle!” The most technical MTB ride at the Watershed - Just Ride Ep. 13

I haven’t been pushed like this in quite a long time… and I loved every min! Trail highlights include Salamander, Capitol Hill and Iceberg which was an epic beat down! When you think of mountain biking at the Watershed in Frederick MD, I doubt endless rock gardens and boulder fields are the first things to pop into your head. Well that is exactly what we rode, and it was amazing! The route ended up being 13 miles and 1400 ft, but don’t let the numbers fool you, it took us over 3 hours to complete! We started our ride from the Sand Flats parking lot and took Skink to Salamander Trail, which was the perfect warm up for what was about to come, lol. From there we grabbed a short segment of Viper in order to link to New Berg. The highlight of this ride was a tiny spur at the end called Capitol Hill. This is a double black tech trail that had us high fiving the entire time. From there we took Iceberg for a 2 mile slug fest through multiple rock gardens and boulder fields before finishing on Skink. Although we absolutely loved this ride, it is definitely an acquired taste. If you are an advanced level rider and enjoy slow speed tech, I would highly recommend this ride.
