Blue Mt Has a New MTB Drop and It’s Awesome! Here’s Everything You Need to Know – BMBP

Blue Mountain Bike Park in Palmerton PA has a new mountain bike drop and it’s awesome! Located just before the big jump line on Upper Empire this drop eliminates the previous step up and s-turns and now sends you perfectly into the first jump. If you want to learn more about the park, or buy a lift ticket check them out here: https://www.skibluemt.com/mountain-biking/tickets-and-passes/ TRAIL DETAIL: If you are familiar with Upper Empire it starts with a buttery smooth drop that stands 8 feet up and 10 feet out. Once you clear the step down there is a long straight away into a large step up. If you clear the step up then you will have enough speed to clear the new drop. At 12 feet up and 20 feet out it is substantial. If you feel like you need a stroke or two go for it but beware, it is possible to over shoot it, so if possible try and follow someone in. If you are sessioning the drop there is a dirt pad to the right parallel to the step up to start from. If you start here you will need 3 or 4 hard strokes to get you up to the correct speed. Your weight and gearing will have an effect so adjust accordingly but for me this was enough to clear it. Once you have cleared the drop you should have plenty of speed to hit the first jump. Again, depending on how much landing you catch and how heavy you are you may need to scrub a little speed so make sure you don’t full-send the first attempt.
