In this video, I walk you through the practical ways I install WordPress depending on the setup I’m working with. If you’re on a good host, the easiest route is the built-in one-click installer—on hosts like Bluehost it’s basically a couple of clicks: add a site, set a title, skip the extra recommended plugins if you want, and you’re done. If you don’t have that option, I show you how to do nearly the same thing via cPanel using the WordPress/Softaculous installer—pick your domain, set your site name, and (most importantly) create a sensible admin username and a safe password. Then I cover the method that works on any server: a manual WordPress install via FTP. I download WordPress from WordPress.org, upload the files with FileZilla, create a database and database user in cPanel, assign privileges, and then finish the install in the browser by entering the database details. Finally, if you just need WordPress for testing, I show the simplest local setup using LocalWP—install it, click “create a new site,” and you’ve got a working WordPress dashboard on your own machine in minutes.
