This week I finally left NYC and did a real upstate New York moment in Lake George (aka paradise in the Adirondacks… a word I was truly struggling to say). I took the Amtrak from Penn Station/Moynihan straight up to Saratoga Springs, met my friend Marissa in the middle, and we headed to Lake George for a girls trip that actually made it out the group chat. We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites, and I’m basically taking you along for the whole weekend—cute little strolls through town (plus some annoying kids with firecrackers), food stops, and just letting the plans be flexible. The big highlights: horseback riding at Saddle Up Stables (so fun, but my butt was sore and my knees were hurting… like, uncomfortable), a 10/10 lake dip at Veterans Park beach in Bolton Landing (I literally dunked my hair and my makeup—mascara was fighting for its life), and then kayaking in Bolton Landing which was also a 10/10. We even attempted s’mores with no real fire situation and still managed to make it work—slay—but we are not doing that again. If you’re looking for an easy weekend itinerary from NYC with water, views, and cozy summer memories, this is it.
