This week I put the strict carnivore diet to the test for 5 days to see what would actually happen to my body—weight, energy, mood, and all that. I’m doing this because I have an island trip coming up and I wanted to see how snatched I could get in a short window (and yes, every body is a bikini body—literally just put the bikini on). I’m a big meat lover, so I thought this would be “easy,” but I’m not gonna lie… cutting sugar and carbs was the real fight. My rules were super simple: eggs, steak, and ground beef with butter—no sauce, no rice, no extras. For drinks it was water (I’m a mineral water girl), plus optional electrolytes, unsweetened tea, or bone broth. I also followed a workout routine I generated (2 gym days, the rest at home), focusing on my waist and thighs. By day 4 I was down 5 lbs, and by day 5 I was down 6 lbs. I know a lot of that is water weight, but it still showed me how fast my body responds when I’m disciplined. The hardest part was the withdrawals—dizzy/weak in the mornings and cravings (Chick-fil-A and pancakes were literally haunting me)—but once I ate, I felt fine. I wouldn’t do this long-term, but I’m definitely taking pieces of it into my routine and reintroducing fruits and veggies after.
