In this episode of the Tech Preacher podcast, I’m talking about the trust problem in tech reviews—and yeah, sponsored content, affiliate links, and “company relationships” are a big part of why people don’t know who to believe anymore. Every year it’s the same cycle: new iPhones drop, new Galaxy phones drop, and you see creators racing to be first, switching platforms for views, then returning phones after 14 days like clockwork. So the question becomes: who can you trust when you’re about to spend $1,000 on a device? My answer is simple: don’t trust me—or anybody—100% out the gate. Look at a creator’s history. Watch how they handle criticism, whether they admit mistakes, and if they can tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly without getting offended fanboys and fangirls in their feelings. Me? I don’t have allegiance to Apple, Samsung, Motorola—my bias is the LG V60, and everybody knows it. I review based on cost and quality first, then features and flaws, and I’ve been cut off by companies for being too real. At the end of the day, you’ve got to recognize the difference between salt and sugar, and watch multiple reviews before you buy anything.
