In this live stream I jumped on a Saturday (yeah, I don’t usually do that) to unbox the Boya content creator kit and give y’all my real thoughts as I go. I started with the Boya Cast Mic (S60D/S60) because y’all already know—I’m a huge fan of microphones, and Boya’s sound quality has been off the charts every time I’ve covered them. I walk through what’s in the box, the build (all metal, SM7B vibe), the ports (XLR + USB), and why I like dual-connection mics for new creators that don’t have an interface yet. I also show the desktop stand setup, cable length (it’s long), and I explain mic placement—this is a front-address mic, not a “talk into the side” situation. Then I actually test the mic live through my studio chain (Neumann MT48 into a RODECaster Pro II) and I let y’all hear the difference between processed audio (EQ/dynamics) and completely flat audio. I’m keeping it 100: this mic needs gain when you’re running it flat, and handling noise is definitely more present compared to my Warm Audio mic (and that’s a whole different price bracket). I also unbox the Boya mic arm and you can see why it costs more than the mic—heavy, premium feel, and a clean presentation. Bottom line: for around $95, this Boya mic is a strong creator option if you understand gain, placement, and a little processing.
